About this deal

Now, I have to say that I did enjoy this whisky but if you had presented it to me in a blind tasting I would never have guessed that it came from an Islay distillery: it tasted more Lowland or Speyside - fruit, vanilla and honey - not at all like the whisky from the distillery over 20 years ago but a pleasant, easy drinking dram for all that. It sounds suspiciously to me like another money-making scheme for the B-Corp proponents similar to others (LEED, anyone? Nose: Lightly fruity, with orchard fruits (white peach, crisp plum, yellow apples), golden raisins, and raw honey. Despite the transparency of cask make up the only the youngest of those ages is legally allowed to be identified according to the SWA regulations.

The tenth edition of this limited edition series, Black Art Edition 10 encapsulates the enigmatic alchemy of whisky making; with a reliance on nature, craftsmanship and the passing of time. In an era of more and more heavily-peated island whiskies, Bruichladdich produces a mildly-peated whisky with character derived more from oak and stone than peat. The higher ABV helps those subtle notes pop, and as we know from Octomore, Bruichladdich spirit likes to be braced by a high alcohol percentage. And what responsibility does the whisky industry have to support grain growing practices that take the environment into account? We may, but are not under any obligation, to release new functionalities and tools or other features for the Service every now and then.
