What started out as designing and building products at home from a young age, they continued through their university years and early careers as product designers.The Joseph Joseph rolling pin has four different-sized discs attached to the ends to help measure and evenly roll your dough to the perfect thickness. It also has helpful measurements etched into the wood so you can get your dough to the exact size it needs to be.

You can use the pin as it is for flat rolling, or with the Adjusters which allow you to adjust it to roll at 3mm or 6mm thickness. Perhaps it will loosen even more with extended use, but it can also be used like a dowel-style pin, ignoring the handles altogether. The two solid wooden spindle handles feel safe when carrying the weight of the marble and are suitably balanced for it to turn freely. Marble rolling pins are often preferred for pastry doughs, since the stone stays cold and helps keep butter from getting soft in the dough. At the other end of the rolling pin is a perforated stopper with a cavity for flour, which turns the pin into a shaker.We tested the rolling pins by rolling out our chilled homemade pastry on a lightly floured work surface and assessing how easy or hard it was to roll, and the finished appearance of the pastry.
