There is a popular belief that these dogs are albino, however they are not and actually have a genetic disease known as “albinism” which is characterized by a lower rate of melanin production. They are recognized by the AKC as a purebred dog and have the same origins at the other purebred German Shepherds, but they are just less common. The shade of tan can vary quite a bit, and, as you’ll see shortly, the natural variation actually leads to what are considered different-colored German Shepherds.

Whether you're a young pup or a seasoned artist, our coloring pages cater to all skill levels, providing hours of coloring enjoyment. There’s something almost magical about a blue dog, and with golden-brown or amber-colored eyes, they look even more exotic, making them highly sought after. Although some say “that blue is a bad color,” it doesn’t change the natural character of the dog, and a blue GSD will have the same “straightforward nature of a gentleman” that a black and tan one does.

The gray German Shepherd is often confused with the blue or black and silver GSD, but it is it’s own distinct color and is recognized by the American Kennel Club. While some say “Gray German Shepherd dogs are a type of sable or Agouti, as it is also known,” gray is one of the six solid colors recognized in the AKC’s GSD breed standard although the genes responsible for the gray color can also “ be found in the A series Agouti genes . The liver color appears all over the German Shepherd and, unlike many colors in this list, does not have any areas of black on the saddle or face. These dogs commonly have blue eyes and their coat can come in three different variations — blue and tan, blue and sable or blue and black.

There’s no background, but you should be able to fill something in if you’d like or just work on the puppy. That fluffy fur will look incredible when it’s finished, and this would be a wonderful gift for any German Shepherd fan. When you picture a German Shepherd you probably envision a black and tan coat, and you may not know that these amazing canines come in a variety of stunning and beautiful colors!

However, if their creativity still did not get its heart content, get them our amazing free pitbull coloring book with 14 printable pdf coloring sheets. In this eighth image featuring a German Shepherd, we have another really interesting portrayal of this amazing breed!

I have a 6 month old GSD puppy, when l got him at 7 weeks old he was regesrtered black but l know they can change but hes got brown plus grey he is also a long coat please help me to try to distinguise his colour as its very unusual . The gray German Shepherd owes its beautiful, dusty coat to a dominant gene that leads to a fairly dark grey coloration.Their ease of training means that they make a great family dog as well as a dog for couples or individuals. The white color gene is a recessive gene which means that both parents need to carry this gene to create a white German Shepherd puppy. Unlike the bi-colored versions of these dogs, black German Shepherds are entirely black, including all of their fur and their noses. Another option if you don’t like shading much, this Shaded German Shepherd has the patterns of his coat already filled, so you can again put all your focus on just coloring neatly ““ though of course, you can add more shadow and light if you choose to.
