About this deal

Three ground-breaking DCI Jane Tennison stories that became a huge TV hit with Helen Mirren in the starring role.

Complicating matters, Lorraine discovers that her colleagues have already branded Cindy as the killer and pressed charges against her. La Plante’s popularity soared with the success of Lynda’s books in the Cold, aka Lorraine Page books which revolve around the life of private detective Lorraine, who undergoes a dramatic downfall from a life of luxury to being abandoned on the streets. She then turned to writing - and made her breakthrough with the phenomenally successful TV series WIDOWS. After a high-octane and lively Book 1 (‘Tennison’) and a quieter, more typical police procedural Book 2 (‘Hidden Killers’), I wasn’t sure where we’d be headed next with Jane Tennison’s police career!

Jane's new boss wants her to wrap up the enquiry as quickly as possible, but something in the apparently trivial case doesn't add up. I understand I can change my preference through my account settings or unsubscribe directly from any marketing communications at any time. The series reaches closer to its ending when movie mogul Harry Nathan dies in a Beverly Hills swimming pool and Lorraine Page is once again forced into her toughest case as she tries to make up for the damage done to Cindy Nathan’s life (Harry’s third wife). The story is so well written, the characters became very familiar and once I began reading, it was very difficult to stop, the tension building as the case was building. She must decide if she will risk her life to bring the killer to justice simply to claim the reward, or if she should leave the task to someone more experience, more willing, and more trusting than she will ever be able to trust herself after her difficult and harrowing past.La Plante’s well-crafted seventh Anna Travis novel (after 2011’s Blood Fury) finds the London detective chief inspector looking into a missing person case. She turns to James Langton (a brilliant Detective Chief Inspector and Anna’s mentor); the rough patch they are going through in their relationship complicates things. Getting used to the change in command in CID it has not stopped her ambition to become a detective and when she gets the chance to work undercover to try to stop the spate of attacks on women she doesn’t think twice even if it could put her in danger. Admirers of La Plante's Edgar Award- winning TV miniseries, Prime Suspect, and of her earlier crime-thriller fiction (Bella Mafia), will want to give this novel anything but the cold shoulder. In what is sure to be an unmissable event, the indisputable Queen of Drama, will be sharing her extraordinary life and writing career.
