BOSS's RV-6 is the latest incarnation of their stompbox digital reverb series, which started with the RV-2 way back in the late 1980s.

Between spring, shimmer, room, hall, and a whole host of other types, there is no one catch-all sound. Theres also a jack for connecting an optional expression pedal, allowing you to control the effect level in real time as you play. These ready-to-play reverbs give you no-fuss impressive sound that wont damage your guitars pure tone in any way.

The new reverb types are effective, too - shimmer delivers one of the best pad-like octave-up reverbs around, while dynamic ebbs and flows with your playing without overwhelming it. I ended up selling it to my band's bass player along with the other Boss pedals I mentioned (I don't mean this to be elitist bc Boss pedals are great) because I didn't find myself using them as much as I should.
