About this deal

However, according to the battery rundown test performed by windowscentral.com, the laptop lasted 17 hours. Although this battery life is slightly below the manufacturer’s claims, it is still very remarkable. I was sent the top-end model with the Core i7 on-board and it performed exactly as I would expect it to perform with this setup. It’s a little slower than the Lenovo Yoga 9i overall, which has the slightly faster Core i7-1185G7 inside. It’s a lot slower than the Apple MacBook Air 2019 and it’s better than the disappointing Asus ZenBook Flip UX371E, whose thermal management issues caused it to throttle much earlier under sustained load. I’ve also included results in the graph for both the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and the 2019 Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 to demonstrate how big a jump in performance there has been between the 10th gen and 11th gen Intel CPUs. An impressive 15% to 20% boost for CPU workloads and nearly double the performance in games thanks to the Iris Xe GPU. Also, the laptop won’t be able to play high-end games smoothly. Nevertheless, the laptop should be able to effectively play a few games under low graphics settings. There's still more to cover in the Galaxy Book Flex 2. It is one of the few laptops with two cameras. There's a 13-megapixel one on the keyboard plate and a typical 720p one in the display surround (which, as is typical, doesn't perform well in low light, and its image detail is limited in all conditions).

Actual battery life may vary depending on application usage, settings, features or tasks selected, network configuration, operating temperature and many other factors. Thus, with this processor, the Galaxy Book Flex2 Alpha will handle basically most computing tasks effectively. Having said that, let us talk about the result of this laptop in a Cinebench R15 benchmark test to further verify its performance.

Comment

If you’re more concerned with getting the performance, the Flex2 isn’t the right choice. Its RAM and storage are limited for the money, because a chunk of the budget goes towards 5G and the S-Pen.

The tablet mode permits the laptop’s lid to rotate full 360 degrees, with the lid resting on the laptop’s bottom. Also, in tablet mode, the keyboard is no longer enabled, and you can only use the touchscreen for input. Samsung doesn't say too much about the specific alloys used in the Galaxy Book Flex 2, but applying the eye, finger, teeth and tongue tests - yes we're kinda gross - we can make a few guesses. The lid and underside seem to be aluminium. The inside has the slightly softer, less metallic feel of an aluminium-magnesium alloy. On the Dirt 3 racing game, Galaxy Book Flex ran at 52 frames per second on Medium graphics at 1080p, but the Spectre x360 (Intel Core i7-8565U CPU, Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU, 16GB of RAM) beat that with a rate of 118 fps. Sadly, the maximum memory capacity that the laptop supports is also 16 GB. As a result, you won’t be able to upgrade the laptop’s memory to more than 16 GB RAM. The Galaxy Book Flex2 Alpha comes with SSD and supports a maximum storage capacity of 512 GB. Although 512 GB of storage space would be enough for most people, storage-hungry users might think otherwise. Although there are better display resolutions, such as 4K and QHD, the FHD will suffice on this laptop.
