About this deal

I respect that this is unique and bold. I can detect a hint of carnation, oakmoss, honey, and leather under this eucalyptus and cat pee smell which I assume is the civet. I don’t know civet, is this what it’s normally like?

Kouros est une bête, toujours présent, dépendant de la chaleur et de quantité appliquée, il peut être étouffant , trop fort , trop animal . Current 2022 Kouros is still Kouros and I learned to enjoy it, but something is different. It seems to be more balanced altogheter, darker, and as if something is gluing all the parts in a much more safer and controlled way. So I went to buy one two or three years ago I went to a store and sprayed Kouros (again, I never knew there were flankers) to my hand to see if that was it and to my surprise I couldn´t establish a connection with that smell. I just didn´t connect it to what I used to wear. Not even in the drydown. It was too dark and buttery (apart from the initial blast).Kouros isn’t animalic just for the sake of it, which he is - one of the most animalic fragrances created; he is animal. He is as clean or as dirty as you want him to be. I know, it sounds hard to like. But to me, it’s well-blended, fresh and spicy enough to be worn. Even to my contemporary nose.

Knowing that Kouros was inspired by Greek Gods and ancient statues, it is no wonder that nothing about this composition is subtle. Again, the modern public will probably like this, and in my opinion, there wasn’t a better time to try this classic than today. Even after more than 40 years after the release of this monolithic perfume, I’ll easily recognize Kouros from the masses of copycats. Performance is good, and funnily enough, on the same level as almost every modern designer out there. The recent trend of wearing subtle fragrances in the working environment has caught up with the old Kouros as well. EDIT 08.09.2018: The comparison with a sample from an old vintage bottling revealed the following: I am not odorless when it comes to animal notes! The smell of a superficially maintained but obviously in need of renovation pub toilet keeps the above-mentioned warm and soft notes at bay for hours. Housekeeper's comment: "I couldn't sleep the night away because a very Stone Age part of my brain was desperately trying to stop me from sleeping next to a sleeping cougar."Kouros is a perfume for men produced by Yves Saint Laurent. [2] The perfume was introduced in 1981. [3] It was created by perfumer Pierre Bourdon. [2] It is also known as "The Scent of the Gods." The reality is I am enjoying more and more the fragrance to the point of feeling it is a bit addictive. Not sure how other people will react but this is totally OFF when compared to todays fragrances, making it more of a signature scent than anything else to me. It´s not a polite fragrance, neither sweety or politically correct. It´s nasty, polarizing, sexy and VERY "sporty" masculine. It's musky and animalic, but not in a pissy way. It's animalic like you could smell the fur of an animal, with all those scents around. The perfume was inspired by a trip to Greece Saint Laurent had taken. [1] He was particularly impressed by the kouroi:
